Tomorrow, June 12th, is the 75th Anniversary of the 1948 Armed Services Women’s Integration Act. This piece of legislation of allows women to serve as a full and active part of the US Military. Previous to this Act of Congress, women were only permitted to serve as reservists, and with the exception of Nurses, only during a time of war. Tonight we celebrated this historic event with a banquet. Members brought guests, enjoyed great food and live music. During this event the group in attendance voted to allow a members to form a separate non-profit organization that would act as a fiscal host to ETWVN. The evening was ended with a surprise for long time ETWVN member Pearl Rich when it was announced that ETWVN would be endowing an annual scholarship in her name followed by the inaugural awarding of the Pearl Rich Women Veterans Educational Scholarship to ETWVN member Kacie Cox.
