Food City is inviting organizations throughout our area to meet their customers and tell them about Wreaths Across America and our work locally to Remember those who have passed, Honor those serving and their families patiently waiting at home and Teach our youth the value of freedom. Knoxville National has nearly 9,000 headstones and very few close family members around to donate. There are no government funds for this project – it is entirely funded through the kindness of the public.This will take place October 24-26 and East TN Women Veterans Network has been assigned to Food City Powell, located at 7530 Clinton Hwy, Powell TN. We always need volunteers for this event and not only from our membership but from the community as well! Invite your family and friends to help. If you are or know a student that needs volunteer credit, we are a 501c3 non profit and can validate volunteer time with their school. We have lots of shifts available and will work with your schedule! Please either bring a chair or wear comfortable shoes for your shift. Dress appropriately for the weather, we will be outside. We will have water and snacks on hand for you. Snacks available will be various chips, pretzels, bananas, oranges and candy.
