During the months of October and November 36 Women Veterans received Quilts of Valor in various coordinated ceremonies in locations throughout the area. These quilts were crafted and presented by the North Knoxville Chapter of Quilts of Valor. A Quilt of Valor^® (QOV) is a quality, handmade quilt that is machine or hand quilted. It is awarded to a Service Member or Veteran who has been touched by war. The Quilt says unequivocally, “Thank you for your service and sacrifice in serving our nation.” Quilts of Valor Foundation celebrated its 20th Anniversary Conference in Paducah, Kentucky and to date has awarded over 4000.000 quilts to veterans.
